Overview of the Clean Energy Industry in Singapore and Asia 

The first in Energy Carta’s Experience Energy Speaker Series, the topic for this talk was chosen so as to provide the audience with a broad overview of the Clean Energy Industry locally and around the region. The panelists provide a wide range of view points with industry and academia being represented.

The panelists were:

Professor SK Chou - Professor in Mechanical Engineering, NUS and Executive Director of the Energy Studies Institute. 

Mr Allan Lim - CEO of Alpha Synovate, a company which deals with waste cooking oil recycling into biofuels. 

Mr David Young - Managing Director of Azurra Solar

Moderator – Benjamin Sovacool, Assistant Professor, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy

The moderator, Benjamin Sovacool, opened the discussion by giving the audience a general overview of clean energy, climate change and the region. After which the discussion was opened to the floor. Topics discussed were wide ranging, from Carbon Trading to the controversy dealing with Biofuels to the potential of Solar in Singapore.

It was a great first event for the Experience Energy series, with the lecture theater completely packed and the audience kept asking questions.
