Company Visit to Alpha Synovate Pte Ltd

The visit to Alpha Synovate was Energy Carta’s very first event, with about 15-20 participants took part. After arriving alpha’s lab and production site at ITE College East, we were shown a quick presentation on the company. The CTO, Hai Woon, took us through how the Company got started and how to company was able to develop its current process through trial and error. He also shared how he became an expert in oil spill clean ups. The CEO, Allan, talked to us about the benefits of recycling waste oil and how biodiesel improves a car’s emissions.

After which, we had a demonstration on how the biodiesel was made from waste oil via a process known as transesterification and the tour of Alpha’s brand new production facilities.  Finally, a customer came by to top up his car with Alpha’s biodiesel and we were shown that even with biodiesel, the car perfoms just as well.

In all, it was a very educational trip in which everyone learned more about how biodiesel was made and how it can benefit us.
