alison1 Alison, Wee

Alison Wee’s passion in conservational biology started young while she was still a secondary school student. However, it was her participation in the NUS Overseas College in Stockholm that gave her passion a clear direction. Through interactions with various NGOs/NPOs such as WWF and Biomimicry Institute in Sweden, Alison came to learn that conservation must make complete economical sense. Upon her return to Singapore, she eagerly searched for channels through which she can create a greener future. This brought her to Energy Carta. Alison strongly believes that clean energy is the key to sustainability—the foundation to every conservation effort. Her core interest lies in biofuel, carbon sequestration and forest genetics. Currently she is working on her thesis under the Plant Biotechnology Group in Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory.
